Dr. Nolan Perez is the Founder and CEO of Gastroenterology Consultants of South Texas, PLLC. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and a Medical Doctorate from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. After medical school, Dr. Perez served in the United States Navy as a Medical Corps Officer. He then completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the Regional Academic Health Center in Harlingen and fellowship training in Gastroenterology/Hepatology at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Perez has been actively involved in mentoring and teaching medical students and Internal Medicine residents since 2007. He is the Medical Director of Platinum Surgery Center and Brownsville Surgery Center, and an Expert Panelist for the Texas Medical Board.
Dr. Perez currently serves as a member of the University of Texas System Board of Regents and member of the Harlingen CISD Board of Trustees. He is also former Chair of the Texas Woman’s University Board of Regents. He has received several recognitions and awards for his community service in the Rio Grande Valley.
